The sky was crystal clear this morning here in South Northumberland, and the moon wonderful.

Durham
A trip to the Osteopath in Durham today, followed by several cups of coffee and a delicious cake at the Cathedral, always a favourite visit since childhood.
I didn't have time to find out about these crosses on the edge of Palace Green, next week perhaps.......

Marbling
Earlier today, the sky at the Cottage was looking as if it was marble, a mixture of wispy cloud and jet trails.

Nettle
For the last few summers I have spent hours picking my way through the nettle patches on our land and finding a rich and varied stock of insects but this year they are barren. Perhaps the ducks who spend a lot of time grazing there have eaten them all?
This summer I will have to make do with a nettle leaf.......

Dock Leaf
The time of year when leaves start to change colour is rapidly arriving. This dock leaf is one of the first.
Solanum tuberosum L.
Every year we have potatoes growing in the compost bays, none of them planted but growing from some which must have been waste from the kitchen years ago. No idea what it's companion is called, a hoverfly of some sort.

Post Referendum Apocalypse ......?
I have it on good authority that this is what the sunsets will look like post EU Referendum. Now then, was it the "Stronger-in" or "Brexit" chap who told me.........? Never mind, sounds like we are buggered either way..!!

We have a pile of timber in the field waiting to be split into logs, as it is drying the surface the wood is developing more and more character.

Primrose
The primroses beside our burn are probably at their peak at the moment, I took this shot in the evening sunlight today.

Pink Tinged Daisy
You will have to forgive me for another photo of these lovely little common daisies, tinged with pink, I think they are fascinating....

Autumn in Spring
Spring is here (it must be, snow yesterday!) and the usual plants are beginning to come into flower. Beside the Burn there are still reminders of Autumn, this bramble leaf looks gloriously autumnal in the bright sunshine this morning. I am guessing that this discolouration is caused by fungal decay.
