Frosty, Foggy........

We had a sharp air frost last light, and combined with a rapidly changing fog first thing this morning, made for interesting landscape over towards Hilltop Plantation.  #Slaley

An afternoon ride down Hexham mid-afternoon today, dodging rain showers on the way.  A few chores and a little shopping, the sky cleared to a breezy, bright evening.  From Juniper to Slaley the clouds were gathering over Hexhamshire behind me....

Derwent Reservoir, mystical moment.....

A lovely, if chilly evening ride over to Edmundbyres yesterday.  One of my regular rides around Derwent Reservoir which straddles the border of South Northumberland and Durham. The light when I reached the northern shore of the reservoir was really quite special...

Friday, 8 October 2021

A lovely afternoon for a ride into the Tyne Valley and Hexhamshire,  Along the Yarridge, the view over Lowgate and to the North was wonderful. Up into Hexhamshire, the Angel of the Shire was also looking good in the late afternoon sun...

The distinctive line of conifers on Healey Hill near Minsteracres, visible from several miles away on the South shore of Derwent Reservoir yesterday evening.

Storm Clouds.......

Buckshot Syke near Blanchland was bathed in sunshine this evening as a storm cloud approached Blanchland.

The effort of cycling does have it's plus points.........

Primroses

We have a few little clumps of Primroses growing in the scrub woodland beside the Burn.  They have been flowering for a couple of weeks now but the mild weather of late has really helped them along.....
